Don has acted in many movies and TV shows including Lone Star, Waiting for Guffman, Bottle Rocket, More Than Two Dollars (co-star), Heaven Help Us, and A Woman of Independent Means. He currently works at Simmons Media Group in Austin, Texas as traffic producer and anchor for KWNX-AM, KTND-FM and KXAN-TV.
For over 10 years Don has been the owner/producer of Murder by Design Productions, an interactive mystery/comedy entertainment company specializing in corporate events. He has designed, written, cast and produced/directed more than 100 events since 1991 for more than 50 clients including PricewaterhouseCoopers, Ernst & Young, 3M, Dell, Motorola, Bracewell Patterson, Heritage Hotels of America, Post Properties, and Pappas Restaurants.
Don has directed more than 50 productions from traditional staged theater, interactive theater, dinner theater, radio production, television, and video. His script writing includes industrial, sales, promotion comedy and drama for radio, film and theater. His on-air experience includes air personality, news reporter and news director, including 5 years as the helicopter traffic reporter for Skywatch Traffic and Metro Traffic Control in Austin, Texas with 13 radio and 3 television stations affiliates.
Don was the managing director of The Actors' Alliance (actors' association of the Texas Film Alliance) from 1996-1999 with about 300 members (actors, directors, producers) and regular contact with the Texas Governor's Office Film Commission.
Don is a retired Captain from the United States Army Signal Corps. His primary active duty assignment was as a Public Affairs Officer for 101st Airborne Division (AASLT). He built WEGL, a 10-watt local carrier radio broadcast facility at Ft. Campbell, Kentucky. He also spent 10 years in public affairs for the Texas Army National Guard, Camp Mabry, Austin, Texas.
Don has a BFA in Speech & Theater from Southeastern Louisiana University (1975), a BS in Biochemistry from Donsbach University, Huntington Beach, California, and a MS in Clinical Nutrition, also from Donsbach University.
